What is Naturopathic Medicine?
You are not a headache.
You know that.
Does your physician?
Naturopathic Doctors are recognized as specialists trained in natural approaches to treat the cause of disease. Using lifestyle medicine, vitamins, herbs, homeopathic remedies and nutrition, our goal is to help the body help itself. They are experts in natural medicine and trained as primary care doctors who are licensed to diagnose disease, order labs and images as needed. We use noninvasive, non-toxic and non-addictive approaches to healthcare and believe that the body has an innate ability to heal itself if given the right environment.
Naturopathic physicians attend four years of medical school post Bachelor's degree. We are trained to find and treat the underlying cause of illnesses using non-invasive therapies, rather than suppressing symptoms. Naturopathic doctors are conscious of the impact of their medicines on the environment, using organic, pure medicines whenever possible.
Upon graduation we take a Hippocratic oath to uphold the tenants of Naturopathic Medicine in our daily practice. These tenants are:
To First Do No Harm
Utilize the Healing Power of Nature
Identify and Treat the Cause of Disease
Docere-Doctor as Teacher
Treat the Whole Person, not just the disease
Prevent Disease and Illness
At Connecticut Natural Medicine every patient is treated with kindness, courtesy and enough time to develop a treatment plan individualized to address their health concerns. We value the doctor-patient relationship and seek to empower our patients with knowledge and support.
