Clearlight®Infrared Sauna with Red Light Therapy
You may have heard about the positive effects of infrared saunas and wondered why they are different from traditional saunas to promote health. Unlike traditional steam saunas, infrared saunas use infrared light, which we experience as heat – the naturally occurring invisible part of the sun’s spectrum. Infrared Sauna therapy targets the body’s tissues at a cellular level, instead of heating the air like traditional saunas. This allows the sauna to run at a lower temperature with more benefits. In this way it raises the body’s core temperature and promotes natural healing mechanisms, which restore and re-balance health in a variety of ways.
At Connecticut Natural Medicine we also have the added benefit of Red Light Therapy added to all of your sauna sessions. Clearlight® Red Light Therapy provides the most proven and effective therapeutic wavelengths to the entire body reducing oxidative stress and stimulating the production of ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate).
This process, known as Photobiomodulation, has been extensively researched for many years and adds measurable energy to the mitochondria of your cells. The Clearlight® Light Therapy Tower can be used during your sauna session. Light therapy has been tested across hundreds of peer-reviewed clinical trials with positive results. The benefits of Red Light Therapy include:
-
Reduction of Chronic and Acute Pain
-
Skin Rejuvenation (boost collagen & elastin production)
-
Tissue Regeneration
-

-

Some of the targeted benefits of Infrared Saunas include:
Detoxification:
The build-up of toxic substances can lead to a host of common illnesses. Detoxification through sweating is a safe and natural way to heal & stay healthy. Detoxing strengthens the immune system and helps the body’s biochemical processes function efficiently, even promoting better digestion of the nutrients in our food. Far infrared saunas result in a deep, detoxifying sweat at the cellular level where toxins reside. Ridding the body of toxins through a natural sauna detox may help relieve symptoms, prevent future illness and increase overall health and vitality.
Relaxation and stress relief: Infrared is a gentle, soothing and therapeutic heat that promotes relaxation and improved sleep, overall reducing the impact of stress. Studies show that high levels of stress negatively affect the number of neurons, memory, the grey and white matter composition, and overall brain function. chronic stress affects every physiological system in the body, from the immune system, to hormones and digestive health. Coupling mindful meditation while in the sauna promotes stress reduction and cognitive health.
Blood pressure stability: Infrared saunas have been proven to increase heart rate and blood flow, lower blood pressure and help circulation.
Pain Relief: FAR sauna heat penetrates tissues, joints, and muscles to reduce injury, recovery time, relieve minor aches and pains, in addition to chronic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia. Combined with RLT, chronic pain is greatly improved with just 1 session but cumulative effects are seen as well.
Improved circulation: Heating the muscles with infrared rays produces an increase in blood flow similar to that seen during exercise. Regular infrared sauna use can significantly stimulate blood flow up to twice the normal rate.
During your sauna session:
Drink water! Stay hydrated! We will provide you with the best electrolytes available Redmond ReLyte to make sure you stay hydrated during your session. Make sure to drink water before sauna use.
Choose the temperature: The average temperature for an infrared sauna ranges from 100˚F to 150˚F, with beginners starting out at the lower end and more experienced users at the higher end. If this is your first time, start with 100˚F. You may want to stay at this temperature for a few sessions. You can always increase the temperature each session until you reach 150˚F.
Length of time: For first-time users, start with 10 to 15 minutes. You can add time each session until you reach the suggested time of 20 to 30 minutes.
Clothing:How you dress is your choice, we provide a robe and towels.
What you can do while in the sauna? Relax, read, meditate, or listen to music.
After the session is over. After a session it is recommended to take your time and let your body cool down. We will provide a heated damp towel to wipe off with. A shower and plenty of water are suggested.
Number of sessions per week. We recommend using the sauna three to four days per week, and if you can, daily use can be very beneficial.
If you have any health conditions such as high blood pressure, heart
problems, or are under medical care, get cleared by your doctor before
